http://perso.wanadoo.fr/eric.evain。

The objective is to build the Yamaha M1 with Spiderman painting of Marco Melandri during the Estoril GP (before the crash...)
I have first to draw the pattern od the body cowls. So I apply Tamiya tape of every body parts and I draw the borders with a pen. All the patterns thus drawing are applied on a transparent plastic shhet and scanned.
Then I used the scanned patterns with Corel Draw in order to design the decals which will be printed with the OKI MD5000 thermal transfer printer. In this picture you can see the first step of design.
the drawing continue with the addition of the shade
I had the curve the Fortuna to adapt it to the front.
The hexagons connections are not easy to draw
I have quite finished the front size.
I have a test of my drawings on the real parts. It seems to be OK
I've worked on the carbon pieces
I've used Studio 27 carbon decals (Large size).
and I used putty to make the seat cowl shorter
Before to apply the Alclad II chrome color, I've add springs support and sensors on the exhaust pipe
I've found a nice tool to cut brak disc masks on Tamiya tape.
Here is a view of the final drawing. Of course I've not draw the logos included in the Tamiya box
Then I've printed and varnished the decals with an OKI DP5000 printer
The cowl parts are painted with Tamiya's TS50 and I've applied the chrome decals
Then I've applied a thin layer aof TS50 on the decal in order to have a blue reflect
the parts are clear coatted with automotive' Sikkens Autoclear clear coat
the the blue area is masked and I spay a white primer layer with Tamiya XF1. The I used Ferrari polyurethanne paint for the red area.
